What does Nevio actually do?

Nevio is a personal photo diary for your skin — the same idea as a weight tracker or a menstrual cycle tracker, just for moles. You photograph a mole or skin spot, and Nevio adds a plain-language visual note (loosely based on the ABCDE criteria dermatologists use for early awareness — Asymmetry, Border, Color, Diameter, Evolution) plus a suggested next step. You can re-photograph the same mole over time to build your own visual history and see if anything has changed.

Is this a medical diagnosis?

No. Nevio is a self-observation photo diary, not a diagnostic device, and it never provides a medical diagnosis. Every result includes a reminder of this, and anything you're concerned about should be evaluated in person by a dermatologist.

How accurate is the analysis?

The analysis is generated by an AI vision model and, like any automated tool, can be wrong in either direction — it can flag something harmless, or miss something that a trained dermatologist would catch. Treat it as a helpful nudge to pay attention, not a verdict.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your photos are stored in a private cloud bucket with no public link — every view uses a temporary, signed URL generated just for you. We don't sell data or use third-party ad trackers. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.

Can I delete my data?

Yes, any time — Settings → Delete Account permanently erases your account, every photo, and all analysis history. This can't be undone.

Why was my photo rejected?

Nevio rejects photos that either aren't of a mole/skin spot at all, or are too blurry, dark, or far away to assess reliably. Retake the photo in good lighting with the spot clearly in focus and try again.

How do recheck reminders work?

Once you've added at least one mole to your profile, Nevio reminds you about once a month to take a fresh look and keep your photo diary up to date. Reminders are scheduled entirely on your device — they'll fire even if the app is closed, and no reminder data is sent to our servers.

I signed up with Apple — can I also use a password?

Yes — go to Settings and set a password at any time. Your account stays the same, you'll just have a second way to log in.
